THE WAINWRIGHT TOMB Bellefontaine Cemetery St. Louis

The Wainwright Tomb, Bellefontaine Cemetery
St. Louis Missouri Designed by Louis Sullivan
(although Frank Lloyd Wright claimed
it was his idea/design - he worked for Sullivan as a draftsman at the time - late 1800s)
The original drawings for the tomb are in the collections of the St. Louis Public Library
The Wainwrights also commissioned Sullivan to design their office building
in downtown St. Louis - now recognized as the world's first "skyscraper"
